I thought it's backward compatible cs I'm pretty new to hackintoshing
What about sierra (or el cap)? The AMD Vanilla process is only backwards compatible to High Sierra. It doesn’t include the older versions, as they require different patches and fixes.
The patched kernel provided for Yosemite should work with your CPU. If it needs any system kexts replaced so it work, then these are usually included with the patched kernel.
Legacy bios, I use opencore cs clover and chameleon never works, there are no kernels directory or there might be but idk where to place it neither /s/l or /l wouldn't have kernelsAre you using a system with an legacy MBR Bios or newer UEFI Bios?
How have you configured your macOS installer for legacy bios or UEFI?
Are you using OpenCore, Clover or Chameleon as your bootloader?
Personally I would use Clover or Chameleon for Yosemite.
You have to open the macOS installer DMG and replace the kernel in the installer with the patched kernel, along with any Kexts that are recommended. Then create the macOS installer.
Alternatively in Clover and Chameleon you can provide the name of the patched kernel in the boot.plist or config.plist. The name can’t be ‘mach_kernel’ which IIRC is the name Apple uses for their kernel. I used to name it ‘AMD-Kernel’ when using a patched kernel, sometimes with a numeral at the end to differentiate between patched kernels.
It's there in the root, but it still struggle to give me a proper picker without getting me jumpscared by scary opencoreDo you have a Boot file in the Root of the EFI partition sitting alongside your EFI folder? If not then that is what the error message is about.
You need to run the Legacy boot option in the /OpenCore/Utilities folder, I.e. found in the OpenCore folder you downloaded.
