Hi all, just registered here today. I have been trying to get this working through OpenCore since yesterday, but I always get a reboot or hang on [EB|LOG:EXITBS:START]. I have followed the dortania guide and tried to figure it out since yesterday, but no luck so far. I had to disable secure boot also and set SecureBootModel to Disabled. Otherwise I either get Access Denied, or else a different issue and a reboot, mentioning secure boot.

My specs:

Motherboard: MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI
CPU: Ryzen 7 9700X
GPU: RX 6700XT
RAM: 32GB DDR5

I will also attach the EFI directory in case anyone is able to help.

I will post an update since I apparently had some things wrong regarding MMIO. I have the entries now and I am only whitelisting one for the time being. I now get as far as a screen that halts on start:514: successfully initialized AHCI controller It will just freeze here and eventually show the symbol in the middle and Apple message. I've read that it's supposed to be ACPI related, but I find it hard to know what I should do next.

EDIT: Wow I feel silly. After I mapped the USB ports, I didn't actually use the USBToolBox.kext file, only UTBTool.kext. 😅

Anyway I started installing and after about 15 minutes the installer hung. The cursor was frozen, with it stating "About 1 hour and 53 minutes remaining". I moved the USB to a USB-C port and made it past that point. I am getting further at least.

Apologies. After looking into it more, I have it installed and running. I am still in the process of trying to fix things, and I haven't even looked into fixing sleep or anything yet.

The next step is to try fix the GPU so it has acceleration. I am using WhateverGreen.kext, but it only uses one monitor and is software rendering as it's sluggish. Is there something specific I should be doing in order to get this working? I seen mentions of spoofing, but that only mentions certain GPUs, and also some posts I find about it are a few years old.

The Graphics is just reported as "Display 14 MB".

If you are using an AMD RX 6700 XT dGPU then you don't want to use WhateverGreen.kext. As WhateverGreen.kext doesn't support the RX 6700 XT or other Navi 22 dGPU's.

You need to replace it with NootRX.kext. Don't use both at the same time, as that will cause issues, as will having any DeviceProperties present in your config.plist.

Select the 'Nightly Build' button to download the latest version of the kext.

Thanks for the reply. Ironically I'd actually stumbled across one of your posts earlier that stated the RX 6700 XT wouldn't work with WhateverGreen. For some reason I just had no idea and spent hours trying to diagnose it.

I'd been running it for hours with hardware acceleration working fine, managing to test the program I wanted to test etc.

For audio I had to use layout 13 for ALC897 to get sound, which was only the third of my possible options. I will try the others later, as the inputs for mic and line in don't work. Sleep also doesn't work, but that makes sense as I haven't attempted to try resolve it yet. I will try look into these things tomorrow if possible, I'm just happy it's booting and working as of now. A lot of the information I found to get it working was a mixture of here and dortania, so massive thanks.

I found out today that using layout 66 makes the microphone work fine. Discord would crash if I opened it and tried to access the microphone, but that seems to only affect Krisp noise reduction, as it works fine on standard or none.

Sleep also seems to be working now, even though I didn't change anything regarding it. The computer just went into standby while I was away, and I was able to wake it with the power button. It wouldn't wake on the mouse or keyboard, but that's not too big of a deal.

I do have the wrong keyboard layout despite changing it in settings, but these are all small things really. All the main things seem fine so far.

EDIT: Also my NVMe doesn't show up. I can live with that if it's not going to work, I usually keep Windows and Linux on there.

Hello! I have the same motherboard and Ryzen 7700 cpu. For last few days I was trying out different guides & methods, but without success. This isn't my first hackintosh, but I feel like it is way harder than setting up Intel machine (even in Core 2 Duo days👴).

Could you share your EFI folder, Steo? Thanks in advance!
