Need assistance adapting EFI for macOS Tahoe (Ryzen 9 7950X3D + RX 6900 XT)

I use Corpnewt's ProperTree to edit the config.plist. https://github.com/corpnewt/ProperTree Select the green coloured button named 'Code' and download the zip to get a copy of the script. In the Kernel > Add section of the config.plist are listed all the kexts being injected by your OC...

Need assistance adapting EFI for macOS Tahoe (Ryzen 9 7950X3D + RX 6900 XT)

Not an uncommon occurrence. You may need to disable a number of non-essential kexts, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Audio, NVMe and graphics during the installation process. They can all be re-enabled one you reach the Tahoe desktop. Tahoe works best during the installation process when a minimalist...

    Bios 16,4

There is nothing obviously wrong with your EFI folder. If you are trying to boot or install Tahoe, you may need to add a MaxKernel entry to the OCLP kexts. AMFIPass.kext IO80211FamilyLegacy.kext IO80211FamilyLegacy.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortBrcmNIC.kext IOSkywalkFamily.kext AMFIPass.kext...

    macOS Tahoe 26.5

Download the full macOS Tahoe installer using Corpnewt’s gibmacOS script. Then use the macOS application to create a USB installer. https://github.com/corpnewt/gibMacOS If possible I would use a separate drive for the Tahoe installation, so you retain access to Sequoia if you run in to any...

Need assistance adapting EFI for macOS Tahoe (Ryzen 9 7950X3D + RX 6900 XT)

That is usually the sign of a USB port not being activated and carried over to work during the installation process. i.e. the USB pen drive connected to the port can no longer be found by the installer. If you were using the Verbose boot arguments (-v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100) you would see a set...

Some context for this error would be helpful. Were you using Xcode when this error occurred?

Another boot argument, which forces all displays online you should try is as follows. igfxonln=1 This is normally used for an Intel IGPU, but as the NootedRed Dev has co-opted some features from WhateverGreen.kext it might work with your AMD IGPU.

    Bios 16,4

Hardly surprising as your system lacks graphics acceleration. Have you tried a different version of NootedRed?

    Bios 16,4

Yes, for CPU to work correctly.

    Bios 16,4

Nothing in that list that would obviously interfere with NootedRed. Not sure you need -radcodec boot arg as the AMD IGPU isn't an older AMD graphics implementation that requires the system to Force the spoofed PID to be used in AMDRadeonVADriver.

Are you using any other graphics related kexts, SSDT’s, DeviceProperties, boot arguments or OpenCore patches? If you are trying to removing them so there is nothing that interferes with NootedRed.

    Tahoe Performance

Tahoe expects an Apple ‘T2’ chip to be present, as only Intel systems that contain a’T2’ chip are supported in Tahoe. The ‘T2’ chip handles some of the graphics processing, along with the graphics card, so some loss of performance and some other issues should be expected. The presence of the...

    Bios 16,4

How have you set the VRAM for the AMD IGPU in your system Bios? Have you increased it to a minimum of 1GB, double that would be better when running macOS, if you have 16GB RAM in the system. You won't get graphics acceleration without NootedRed.kext being present and enabled in your...
