Help Needed: Radeon RX 6900 XT Issue with nootrx.kext - 'Unsupported signal, check your device output' Error

I will share a link but the behavior you are describing is very unusual for trying to spoof a video card. A spoof usually works or doesn't and leaves you with the default VGA resolution aka no video acceleration. Freezing is usually a sign of other hardware issues but zip and post your EFI so we...

Help Needed: Radeon RX 6900 XT Issue with nootrx.kext - 'Unsupported signal, check your device output' Error

This is what I use to spoof my 6950XT. No device properties settings or boot arguments needed. See if it helps....I'm getting the feeling it's something else. As EdHawk mentioned I'd try another card or operating system.

Help Needed: Radeon RX 6900 XT Issue with nootrx.kext - 'Unsupported signal, check your device output' Error

It's pretty much the same situation with either platform when spoofing a GPU. Its all about the SSDT usually.

    Sapphire RX 6600 GPU

It should work, for more help it would be best to zip and upload your entire EFI folder

    Unable to shut down

Hello @ yoah1 What you describe is probably the most common symptom of incorrect USB Port mapping, the shutdown/reboot is another as @Edhawk pointed out. Unfortunately no USB Mapping program typically gets it right the first time requiring the user to edit the results to more accurately map...

    Not booting

If you updated to version 7D52v1A, that addresses the sinkclose vulnerability, that has been shown to cause boot failure regardless of the bios settings applied. Unfortunately the only way known to fix that issue is to downgrade the bios to a previously known working version...

Buying an AMD Supported graphics card, otherwise no, OCLP is your only option.

Sinkclose Vulnerability Bios Updates Causing Boot Failure

As far as I know MSI is the only manufacturer so far to offer this patch,.I checked Asus' and AsRock's website for bios updates and the latest seems to be the update to support 9000 series processors. No Sinkclose Vulnerability patches.

Solved HELP ME with Ryzen 3 4100 GT630

You are leaving out critical information that would allow us to help such as the motherboard and version of macOS you want to install...but your graphics card is not supported and your CPU does not have an iGPU that could be used.

    Crashes messages on first boot

Unfortunately your GPU is not supported in any version of macOS and there is no iGPU on your CPU. You would need to purchase a supported AMD Graphics card to be able to install.

    DSDT patch

https://macos86.it/topic/6542-bug-fix-for-am5-new-firmware-motherboards-dsdt-fix/ But asking for help on the Discord from corpghost as @fabiosun suggested is a much cleaner approach.

    macOS Sequoia

I kind of did and kind of didn't. The patches have been updated so they will run Sequoia, if you don't use the updated version currently in Beta then your system won't boot.

Sinkclose Vulnerability Bios Updates Causing Boot Failure

Thought it would be a good idea to post that the bios updates for the Sinkclose Vulnerability apparently are causing failure to boot. There are two users who have AM4 MSI boards we know of that have that issue. It looks like a kernel issue in that the error message states: [EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START]...

    Ryzen 9000

I've read speculation that the 9000 series processors would't be so different than the 7000 but that bios issues might be a road block. That made sense to me being they can run on existing motherboards and could still prove to be true. Hopefully once more people in the community buy 9000...

OpenCore is stuck after bios update

I think you have two choices, wait for someone more knowledgeable to figure out what the problem is or downgrade. There is always a risk updating the bios, more so in the hackintosh community as updates can break a working system.

OpenCore is stuck after bios update

You may be the first to update CVE-2024-36877 security issue. I assume you have turned off secure boot and cleared the security keys? If nothing else works have you tried downgrading the bios?

    Ryzen 9000

You probably need the newer bios version to run 9000 processors is my guess. It’s very early days yet, if I do decide to upgrade I’ll wait until there are some success stories

[SUCCESS] macOS Ventura on AMD Ryzen 7600X and RX 6700XT

@kcsmithh35 This is what I used on my MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi. USB ports not mapped as yours will be different, kexts are included for intel wifi/bluetooth but disabled and core counts adjusted down to 6. Whatevergreen.kext replaced with NootRX.kext as you have an AMD 6700XT graphics card...
